AR Mandel app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: Kouji Mori
First release : 01 May 2019
App size: 977 Kb
AR Mandel is an application that allows you to enjoy the augmented reality (AR) experience and the world of mysterious fractals at the same time.
Fractal objects such as Mandelbrot set and filled Julia set can be placed in the real world projected by the camera, and it is possible to manipulate figures with intuitive operations.
In addition, you can save your favorite snapshot or post it to SNS.
In this app, the AR function of the device recognizes a surface perpendicular to the ground.
When you launch the app, move the device in various ways to display wall posters, pictures, bookshelves, and other patterned surfaces.
(Caution: unrecognized on white flat walls!)
When a vertical plane is detected, the app responds and a yellow area is displayed.
Tap the yellow area to start the fractal world.
What is a fractal:
Simply put, figures with self-similarity that does not lose its complexity no matter how large it is, is called a fractal figure.
There are a variety of fractal figures, such as Koch curves, Sherpinskis gasquette, Mengers sponge, and more.
Mandelbrot set and filled Julia set are fractals drawn by calculation on the complex plane.
